Kevin Hybiske, PhD

The Hybiske Lab investigates the interactions between intracellular pathogens and host cells with a specific focus on the molecular, cellular and genetic basis of infectious diseases.

Chlamydial Infections

Chlamydia infection is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in humans caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. C. trachomatis is found only in humans and is a major infectious cause of human genital and eye disease.  If untreated, it can cause serious, permanent damage to a woman's reproductive organs.
