CERID Director in Geneva with Medicines for Malaria Venture

CERID Director Wesley Van Voorhis is on sabbatical in Geneva, Switzerland from July 1, 2014 through July 1, 2015. While in Geneva, Dr. Van Voorhis will be working for the Medicines for Malaria Venture, a research foundation dedicated to reducing the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing and facilitating delivery of new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs.

Malaria research at CERID is focused on drug discovery/development, immunopathogenesis, and vaccine research and development.

Dr. Murphy's work focuses on human malaria infection. Human and animals can be protected against malaria sporozoites challenge by immunization with attenuated Plasmodium sporozoites.

The Hybiske Lab investigates the interactions between intracellular pathogens and host cells with a specific focus on the molecular, cellular and genetic basis of infectious diseases.
