Hello CERID,

Happy November!

Have you gotten your flu shot yet? Protect yourself and others by getting vaccinated. You can get your flu shot from your doctor's office or at many pharmacies. It's also a good time to ensure that you are up to date on other vaccinations. Click on the chart below provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to see if you are up to date, and discuss with your healthcare provider at your next visit.

Secondary Container Labelling

Transferring a reagent into a new container? Making up a new solution? Your secondary containers need to be labelled with the following information:
Chemical composition by percent concentration (full chemical names listed)

  • Applicable hazards
  • Name of researcher
  • Date solution made/transferred

UW EH&S has made the following labels that are in compliance with OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard for Labels and Pictograms

Globally Harmonized System compliant labels

Accurate labelling protects yourself and others, especially in emergency situations.
