Overview

The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is essential for maintaining normal neuronal functioning and is often debilitated in the presence of neurological diseases.

BBB dysfunction is linked to disorders of the developing brain, Alzheimer’s disease, severe brain injury or trauma, as well as brain lesions and stroke.

CERID studies new immunotherapies’ effects on the blood-brain barrier in order to better understand and prevent cases of neurotoxicity.
