Overview
Theileria parva is found mostly in eastern, central and southern Africa. It causes the lympho-proliferative diseases known as East Coast fever, Corridor disease and January disease.
In eastern Africa in particular, it causes both mortality and reduced production, and has significant economic impacts as a result.
