Overview

A multifaceted geometric shape in shades of greenThe Recombinant Protein Upscale Center (RPUC) is a recharge center which assists researchers at the University of Washington and beyond with recombinant protein production and purification needs.

Specifically, the RPUC will prepare large scale growth ( 2 liters/upscale) of E. coli constructs, pellet the cultures, screen for recombinant protein expression and, if desired, perform a simple IMAC or a more extensive SEC purification on the soluble fraction.

Generally this service is beneficial to researchers who have prepared recombinant E. coli expression strains, screened them and know that they express protein, but lack the space or equipment to prepare large volume cultures.

Located on the University of Washington South Lake Union campus in Building E, the RPUC is housed on the sixth floor in E610.
